Verse 24

My friends, thank you so much for doing this challenge with me.  A little accountability and support makes all the difference in the world.  So thank you for being my "iron" to help sharpen me this year and keep me in the Word.
My final verse was in a sermon a couple of weeks ago.  It talks about how everything in the Bible was written to encourage us and give us hope.  I thought it was a fitting summary for me.  :)

Romans 15:4  NIV
For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.

I'll email you in a few weeks to set up a date for our final celebration!

  1. This is one I know the gist of but don't have memorized...a good reminder. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
    1 John 1:9, NIV

Thank you for doing this challenge with me, ladies! :)

  2. Loved doing this with all of you - thanks, Deb! Working on my favorite Psalm 145: "Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and His greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall commend Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts." Ps.145:3-4

  3. I know I didn't manage to memorize 2 scriptures each month, but I did learn a lot more than I would have without this challenge. Thanks Debra!
Acts 15:11 We believe that we are all saved the same way, by the undeserved grace of the Lord Jesus. NLT

  4. Philipians 4:8 ESV, "Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is anything excellent, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."

Thank you, Deb! I was so thankful for this challenge this year. Love you.

  7. George Washington carver began every day at 4:00 a.m. talking with the Lord. He searched for answers from God in His creation. God gave him 300 uses for the peanut. If God can do that with a tiny little peanut and one man, what more can he do with all of us if we only believe and ask?!
Verses 7 and 8 below were the most circled verses in his bible.

““But ask the beasts, and they will teach you; the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you; or the bushes of the earth, and they will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.”

  8. Romans 12:20-21 - To the contrary, 'if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.' Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (ESV)

  9. This is an old favorite from Psalty that I can never seem to remember word for word. Hope I will soon!

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1 John 4:7,8 ESV
