Happy New Year!
Verse 23 out of 24! Can you believe you've almost done it!? After I finish this blog post, I'm looking forward to spending some time going over my verses and reflecting of some of the things God has been trying to teach me this year.
I'm going with an oldie but a goody - the Proverbs 31 woman. I constantly need reminders that what I do all day is not just pointless drudgery, but it's honoring to God.
Proverbs 31:27-28 NIV
"She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:"
When we started this thing, I promised a party to all the local friends who made it to the end. And by "party", I mean an excuse to eat sweets (and coffee or wine, depending on the time of day). :) The beginning of February is a little crazy for me, so we'll try to get something on the books for the last week of February.
Happy New Year! This has been great, thanks Deb. I plan to memorize my favorite Psalm this year, Psalm 145, starting with 145:1-2:
ReplyDeleteA Song of Praise. Of David. "I will extol you, my God and King, and bless your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever."
"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."
ReplyDeleteIsaiah 43:19 NIV
'Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.' Romans 12:17-18 (ESV)
ReplyDelete“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.”
ReplyDeleteIsaiah 26:3-4 ESV
“And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all. See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone.”
ReplyDelete1 Thessalonians 5:14-15 ESV
Haha, thanks Deb. I like that reminder that the "pointless drudgery" can be honoring to God!
ReplyDelete"We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands." 1 John 2:3 (NIV)
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”
ReplyDeleteGalatians 5:22-23 ESV
Great reminder as we start a new year! 💗
For the lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every year from their eyes.
ReplyDeleteRevelation 7:17
"Let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger, for the anger of men does not produce the righteousness of God." James 1:19b-20
ReplyDelete"Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God." Romans 15:9
