Verse 17

Ezekiel 36:26 NIV
"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh."

Another translation says, "I will remove your stubborn hearts and give you obedient hearts".

This verse makes it sound like a one-time transaction, but I think it feels more like a daily battle.  My heart keeps wanting to dry up, to become hard and impermeable.  Only the work of the Holy Spirit can make this rock-heart turn to flesh, to soften up and love the people around me like Christ did.

  1. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes. Psalm 118:8-8 (ESV). Election season is upon us, God has a divine plan beyond what we can see.

  3. I am going to work on the last chunk of chapter 4 of Ephesians for October and November...

  4. "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14

Have you seen the movie "War Room"? It is about being prayer warriors -- and this is the scripture that they showed at the end of the film.

  8. October is a busy month for me and my family. I chose this verse and liked the NKJV best.

“From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭61:2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

I imagine Him saying my name... What peace.

  10. Eph 4:25-27, "Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members of one another. Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil."

  11. Excuse my lateness. Oomph.

This is a good one for me, always:
    Isaiah 26:3-4
“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.”
