My verse is Psalm 68:19 NIV "Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens."
I chose this one because I don't often have any big, overwhelming issues in my life. But my burdens are oh so very "daily". Every day, every hour, every five minutes, there are more dishes to wash, whining to bear, and a toddler who is stealing silverware from the drawer, licking it, and putting in back in. This verse is going to be my mantra this week to remind me that God cares about those little things, that He wants to help me if I'll let him, and that I can praise Him in it all.
"Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." (1 Corinthians 15:58, NIV)

Love this verse, Erica! It's one that has helped me immensely in various circumstances of life. :)
DeleteErica, that is an awesome verse. Our daughter Laurie had this verse on her car visor as she was driving home from NY during a blizzard from college. She had a stickshift, so the "right hand" part was particularly appropriate. God brought her home safely, even though part of the time the only way the girls could see was to roll down the windows and get their heads into the snowstorm. Thank you, dear Lord!
DeleteI picked this verse to help support me in some challenging times :)

ReplyDeleteEphesians 1:8: ..."that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding." This verse now officially gets me halfway through my passage that I am memorizing!
ReplyDelete"Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God." Colossians 3:16
ReplyDelete"Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear." Ephesians 4:29
ReplyDelete"I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace." Ephesians 4:1b-3
ReplyDeleteI was reminded of this verse at Katy's talk at Time Out this week. I'm want to think of motherhood as my calling right now instead of focusing on the daily menial tasks of caring for little ones.
Love this verse! I need this reminder too, daily. ♥️

ReplyDeleteMake a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into His presence with singing!
Know that the Lord, he is God!
It is He who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with Thanksgiving, and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him, bless his name!
For the Lord is good, his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.
I sort of know this Psalm already, but I need to refresh in my memory, and in my actions -- remember to praise Him everyday, all the time.

Eph 4:8, (But grace was given to each one of us, according to the measure of Christ's gift.) "Therefore it says, 'When he ascended on high he led a host of captives and he gave gifts to men.'
ReplyDeleteI am late in posting but of course God has a reason (or at least a redemption) for this. Heard this from 3 different sources yesterday and decided it is one I need to commit both to memory and heart. The awe of my sin and God's greatness that when in the physical presence of God, people always fall on their face in humility. He is so awesome.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades. (Revelation 1:17-18 ESV)
I am almost a week late. 😕 My verse for the second half of April is John 8:36, "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."
ReplyDeleteMy word for 2015 is reliant and I feel this verse allow me to focus on that word in all aspects of my life.
